Height 10-16 Inches Width 10-16 Inches Use as a filler when using in containers Drought tolerant & attracts butterflies! White flowers add elegance to any container or garden bed, especially on summer evenings. Intensia White Annual Phlox adds bunches of small white flowers all summer long. Getting this much blooming power from a low-growing annual might seem like it takes some work, but it doesnt. Phlox (P. drummondii) is a North American native, so it grows easily with little fuss or care. Plus, the plant looks pretty well into fall and needs no deadheading. The white flowers just keep coming. Intensia White Annual Phlox resists drought and attracts butterflies. The plant grows in a mounded shape, but reaches only 10 to 16 inches high and wide. The flower color and height will look beautiful as a filler in a container with red, blue or purple flowers, giving it soft white contrast. But dont think you have to confine this unique annual to pots. It makes an excellent border for sidewalks or other hardscapes, or to edge the front of a garden bed. Plant a group of them together for a foam-like mass of white flowers from planting time until fall frost. Intensia® White Annual Phlox Care Give your new phlox full sun for best growth and flowering and choose a bed or container with soil that drains well. It wont be as healthy if left in soggy soil. Since the plant can tolerate drought, water when planting, but after a week or two, water only when the soil feels dry. If you plant the phlox in both containers and garden beds, the ones in containers might need more frequent watering. Fertilize Intensia White Annual Phlox or add some organic compost to the bed when planting. Continue to fertilize your phlox grown in containers regularly throughout the summer. Rabbits sometimes nibble on the plant, so consider that when choosing a planting location if you have lots of bunnies in your area. Otherwise, all you have to do is plant, fertilize and enjoy your Intensia white flowers and green leaves. Intensia® White Annual Phlox Spacing A row or sea of striking white flowers can stand out in any landscape if you plant borders or mass plantings of this pretty annual. Just space the plants about 10 to 12 inches apart to give them just enough room to grow into one another.
