If planting in a container it should have a drainage hole. Add a slow release fertilizer such as Espoma Plant Tone when planting and again the autumn. No need to fertilize otherwise. It is advisable to lightly mulch after planting but dont put the mulch up to the stem. An inch or two of mulch is perfect and will help keep the soil moist.This is an outstanding plant to use in a container or in the landscape. It is the perfect plant for use in a perennial garden where it wont overtake the other plants and will draw beneficial insects as well.
