Pacific ninebark, Physocarpus capitatus, Pacific Northwest Native plant, balls of white and pink flowers in summer attract pollinators, host for many insect species. Fall leaf color is spectacular and rivals that of maples. Bush up to 10' X 8', can be pruned, full sun to part shade, drought tolerant once established. Bareroot plants are two years old, heavily pruned, 3/8 to 3/4" caliper. We offer free shipping to the USA on bare-root dormant plants November 1 thru April 1. If your ground is frozen when your shipment arrives you will need to plant in a pot. Bareroot plants often benefit from being planted in a pot for several months to a year before planting in the ground especially if you are not able to plant in late fall or early spring. We offer pickup at our nursery year-round in Long Beach, WA or we can arrange pickup in Salem or Portland, Oregon. Use coupon code "LOCALPICKUP" for 20% discount if picking up locally. Seeds require 90 days cold moist stratification, best planted in fall outside for spring germination. Seeds must be protected from predation. See the USDA native plant propagation protocol database for more detailed information. Seeds planted at other times of year or outside of the Pacific Northwest may need to be artificially stratified. Seeds have been harvested from wild stock within 1 year of sale and stored cool and dry.
