Diclofenac (Generic) Gel 1%, 100-gm tube; Diclofenac is a topical analgesic approved by the FDA to treat joint pain and inflammation in horses. It should help your animal feel better within one to two hours, and is approved to be used for up to ten days. Wearing disposable non-permeable gloves, you apply the gel by rubbing it thoroughly into the hair covering the affected joint. Your veterinarian will probably suggest that you dont use diclofenac on more than one joint at one time, or spread it over an area larger than a five-inch ribbon, because side effects could occur. Use it only as instructed by your veterinarian.
