The Autumn Sundance™ Encore® Azalea is a wonderful medium-sized shrub, growing to 3½ feet tall and 4 feet across. It is fast-growing, adding about 10 inches of new growth every year when young. Its vibrant pink-red flowers are produced more or less continuously from April to the first frost, with the greatest concentration from April to July, just when you want your garden to be bursting with blooms. It is hardy from zone 6 on, and it makes a wonderful foundation plant, informal barrier or low screen, and it grows well in woodland areas too, bringing color to those lightly-shaded spots. - Vibrant pink-red flowers with fascinating markings in dark red - Blooms all the way from April to the first frost - Ideal medium size with many uses in the garden - Easily grown even in zone 6 - More sun tolerant than other evergreen azaleas The Autumn Sundance Encore Azalea grows well in full sun all day long in cooler areas, and in morning sun with afternoon shade in hotter zones. It will also grow well in partial shade and light full shade too. It thrives in moist, well-drained soil, and only tolerates a very little dryness in summer when mature. It should be grown in acid soil with a pH no higher than 6.5, and preferably lower. If you dont have acid soil, grow it instead in a pot or planter box, using soil recommended for acid-loving plants. It doesnt have any significant pests or diseases and is easy and trouble-free if you have suitable soil conditions.
