EASTERN CAROLINA, N.C. (WITN) - With parts of Eastern Carolina under a winter weather advisory, some school systems have announced closures and delays. Pitt County Schools says due to the forecast of potentially hazardous road conditions, it will operate on a three-hour early release schedule.
UPDATE: Winter weather advisory for Eastern North Carolina anticipated to expire at 9 a.m.
The advisory was for Western Currituck as well as Northampton, Hertford, Gates, Pasquotank, Camden, Bertie, Chowan and Perquimans counties.
