With more snow in the forecast in the Great Lakes region, grocery and other businesses were running low on supplies, and medical treatments were postponed for some. But the worst of the severe winter weather may be coming to an end.

"Lake effect" snow is a notoriously difficult weather phenomenon to forecast, with snow totals varying dramatically over short distances.

Piles of snow are everywhere in lake-effect snow prone areas along Lake Erie and Lake Ontario as yet another storm heads that way for the weekend, but the script flips next week when temperatuers significantly warm.
