Another case of West Nile virus was reported in Camden County Tuesday — the second confirmed case of the disease in the county so far this season, according to local officials. The Camden County Department of Health and Human Services was notified about the positive test results this week and an investigation is underway,

Health officials confirmed three additional cases of West Nile Virus on Tuesday. Officials said three people in their 60s were exposed in Suffolk, Barnstable, and Bristol counties. There’s been a total of 10 human-borne cases this year.

The rise in cases coincides with a growing risk level of catching West Nile virus in several parts of Barnstable and Bristol counties.

Three additional human cases of West Nile virus have been detected in Massachusetts residents, the Department of Public Health said Tuesday.

The City of Springdale Health Department said a recent mosquito sample was found to contain West Nile Virus. Officials announced the sample findings on Tuesday, saying the sample was collected on Aug. 28. Springdale has dealt with West Nile Virus in mosquitoes previously this summer, most recently at the beginning of August.

Public health officials announced three new human cases of West Nile Virus in the Bay State, bringing the yearly total to ten.

The three people in their 60s were exposed in Bristol, Barnstable and Suffolk counties, health officials said.
