The U.S. military says 37 militants in Syria affiliated with the Islamic State group and an al-Qaeda-linked group were killed in two U.S. airstrikes

U.S. Central Command said it struck Syria on Tuesday, targeting a senior militant from the al-Qaida-linked Hurras al-Deen group and eight others.

The United States carried out major airstrikes in Syria over the weekend, with the U.S. Central Command reporting that 37 militants associated with the terrorist organizations ISIS and Hurras al-Din – a militant group affiliated with Al Qaeda – were killed in the attack.
