The EPA said Wednesday it plans to weaken and reconsider federal guidelines on toxic "forever chemicals" in America's drinking water, citing compliance reasons.

Administrator Lee Zeldin will announce Wednesday that the agency is keeping the current nationwide limits for “forever chemicals” in drinking water while committing to extend compliance deadlines for drinking water systems,

The administration said it wants to rescind and reconsider whether limits are needed for four PFAS that chemical companies are still producing and using in the U.S. despite known health risks.
