The rear reversing camera in a wide range of Tesla vehicles can be permanently fried if immediate action isn't taken

More than 5 million vehicles were recalled by the Elon Musk -owned automotive company last year - more than any other car manufacturer, although Kia has also made headlines recently, for recalling nearly 23,000 cars after discovering one single worker may have forgotten to bolt down a particular model's seats.

US automaker Tesla has recalled over 200,000 electric vehicles in the country over an issue related to its latest computer hardware. The problem can trigger a short circuit and disable certain safety features, including the rear-view camera. The recall order impacts recent versions of the Model 3, Model Y, Model S, and Model X vehicles.

Certain Tesla models have been recalled due a computer circuit board shortage causing the vehicles' rearview cameras to not display images properly.

Tesla has recalled more than 239,000 of its Model 3, S, X and Y electric vehicles due to software problems that might disable their rearview cameras.

The software update addresses computers that could short out, disabling safety features like the rearview camera.
