CNN will host two Republican presidential primary debates next month in Iowa and New Hampshire – states that hold the first contests in the race for the 2024 GOP nomination, the network announced Thursday.

The Republican National Committee is expected to consider allowing presidential candidates to participate in other debates.

The debates offer some contenders additional opportunities to sway voters after Wednesday night’s debate in Tuscaloosa, Ala.

With Trump probably sitting out, the two candidates vying for second may be the only people onstage in the next two GOP debates.

The announcement of the debates, planned for the days before each state’s nominating contest, comes as the Republican National Committee considers loosening its rules for the onstage clashes.
