Beshear is asking for the resignation of Letcher County Sheriff Mickey Stines, who was arrested last week for the alleged shooting death of Letcher District Court Judge Kevin Mullins.

In a letter Wednesday, Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear asked Letcher County Sheriff Shawn “Mickey” Stines to resign by the end of Friday.
