Refinance averages showed downward movement across almost all other loan types as well. Thursday's 15-year refi average subtracted 3 basis points, 20-year refinance rates fell a bold 10 points, and jumbo 30-year loans gave up 2 basis points.

The median interest rate on a 30-year fixed-rate mortgage is 6.125% as of September 5, which is unchanged from yesterday. Additionally, the median interest rate on a 15-year fixed-rate mortgage is 5.375%, which is 0.115 percentage points lower than yesterday.
