Israel says it has retrieved the body of a Thai hostage kidnapped into Gaza on Oct. 7, 2023. The Prime Minister’s office said that the body of Thai citizen Nattapong Pinta was returned to Israel in a special military operation.

Health officials say at least eight Palestinians were killed and dozens more were wounded in the latest shooting near Israeli- and U.S.-supported food distribution points in Gaza.

Israeli forces fired on dozens of people, including children, near a privatized aid distribution site in southern Gaza.

Israel’s military campaign has killed over 54,000 Palestinians, mostly women and children, according to Gaza’s Health Ministry, which does not say how many of the dead were civilians or combatants. The offensive has destroyed vast areas of Gaza and displaced around 90% of the population.

Israel says more than half of the 55 hostages remaining in Gaza are dead. Families again called for a ceasefire deal to bring all hostages home.
