State news agency says four killed in two separate attacks in the south as Israel says it targeted Hezbollah operatives.

The attack came as cross-border fire has escalated between Israel and militants in Lebanon, raising doubts about the state of a shaky ceasefire.

Beirut’s southern suburbs, a Hezbollah stronghold known as Dahiyeh, were pounded last year by Israeli strikes that killed many of the group’s top leaders, including its powerful chief Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah in a September air attack.
