Israeli operation in occupied West Bank leaves at least 10 dead in largest raid in decades JERUSALEM — Israeli forces launched a sweeping military operation Wednesday in the occupied West Bank, carrying out airstrikes and deadly raids and sealing off the city of Jenin.

Palestinian health officials said strikes overnight killed six people including Mohammed Zubeidi, the son of a well-known militant commander.

In an unmistakeable sign that a full-scale invasion of the West Bank is in preparation, Defence Minister Gallant declared yesterday that eventually the military will need to “pull out the roots” of Palestinian resistance.
