Israeli military strikes killed at least 50 Palestinians, local health authorities said, as President Donald Trump continued his visit to the Middle East.

The Israeli military has intensified its attack on the Gaza Strip with air strikes that killed at least 70 people on Wednesday, local authorities said. The Gaza Health Ministry said that people were trapped under rubble “where rescue and civil emergency teams can't reach” after the latest strikes.

Israeli air strikes pounded northern and southern Gaza on Wednesday, killing at least 60 people, including almost two dozen children, according to local hospitals and health officials, a day after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said there was “no way” he would halt Israel’s offensive in the Palestinian territory before Hamas is defeated.
