The Right to IVF bill intends to provide a nationwide right to IVF treatment but was blocked by Senate Republicans this week. Republicans say bill was a “cynical show vote."

A bill protecting access to in-vitro fertilization, or IVF, failed in the U.S. Senate for a second time this week. Only two Republicans voted in favor.

Election season is heating up, and at the center of the debate are reproductive rights, with particular attention to in vitro fertilization. Two pieces of legislation under their respective political parties failed to pass.
