Prosecutors argue that Hunter Biden doesn’t have enough evidence to support his claims of potential political interference.

The special counsel overseeing the Hunter Biden investigation asked the judge in his gun charge case to reject his request to subpoena documents from former President Donald Trump and former Justice Department officials from his administration as part of his defense.

The special counsel investigating Hunter Biden opposed his request to issue subpoenas for documents from Donald Trump and others from the former president’s administration in a filing Monday, pushing back on the notion that charges against the president’s son in Delaware were a result of selective or vindictive prosecution.

Federal prosecutors from Weiss’ office urged a judge to reject the request for subpoenas, arguing they were "far-reaching" and "non-specific."

Hunter Biden is being opposed on what the special counsel prosecuting him called an “unsupported, improper attempt to circumvent the rules.”
