A federal judge appointed by former President Bill Clinton blocked parts of a new law signed by Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis banning gender transition treatments for children.

U.S. District Judge Robert Hinkle's 44-page ruling called the decision to pursue the ban on puberty blockers and hormonal treatment a political decision and not a “legitimate state interest.”

A federal judge in Tallahassee has blocked a state ban on administration of gender-affirming therapies, including puberty blockers, hormone therapies, or surgery, for any patient under the age of 18.
