The search for seven prisoners who escaped from a jail in New Orleans entered its fourth day Monday as Louisiana authorities have expanded the search to other states.

Hundreds of local, state and federal authorities are scrambling to find seven inmates who bolted out of a New Orleans jail Friday, sprinted across an interstate and vanished.

Several of the inmates are facing murder or attempted murder charges or other offenses, including burglary, illegal carrying of weapons and domestic abuse involving strangulation.
