A section of Pacific Coast Highway that could have been mistaken for a river has reopened thanks to fast-moving road crews.
A smaller, 2.9 earthquake hit the Malibu area earlier Sunday at around 3:35 a.m. No damage or injuries were immediately reported.
After experiencing five earthquakes since mid-February, the Malibu area felt a few more over the weekend. The first quake, a magnitude 2.9, occurred at 3:35 p.m., 17 miles south of Malibu.
The temblor was centered about 2.5 miles south of Julian, according to initial reports from the U.S. Geological Survey.
