Chevy Chase showed up in South Jersey to surprise a family and help them light up their iconic 'Christmas Vacation' display.

Steve Harbaugh of Mullica Hill, New Jersey, has been decorating his home in the style of National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation since 2018, but it wasn't until this year that the famed actor paid Harbaugh Village a memorable visit and recreated the scene as he turned on the holiday light display.

Chevy Chase, who starred as Clark W. Griswold in "National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation" paid a visit to Mullica Hill Sunday to light up a house that is decorated in honor of the famous Christmas movie. The event, which was held at the Harbaugh Village in Gloucester County, included a viewing of the movie.

Decades later, Chase was banned from hosting “Saturday Night Live” after a number of incidents where he derided ‘Not Ready For Primetime Players’ and writers with homophobic and sexist slurs; he also reportedly slapped Cheri Oteri in the back of the head.

For Steve and the community, it was always a dream to have Chevy Chase help light up the house. Well, that dream came true Sunday evening.
