The Justice Department advised families of victims of two 737 Max crashes that it was considering a plan to drop a previous agreement under which Boeing would have pleaded guilty.

Families of some of the 346 people killed in two fatal Boeing 737 MAX crashes plan to object to a tentative nonprosecution agreement between the planemaker and the U.S. Justice Department, a lawyer said on Saturday.

On May 14, 2025, the United States Department of Justice announced that it was planning on having large meetings with victims of the two Boeing 737 MAX crashes in 2018 and 2019 that resulted in the deaths of more than 340 people.
