SpaceX flew astronauts for the first time in 2020, and Boeing reached the same milestone with the test flight that launched in June. Ultimately, the Starliner spacecraft safely returned to Earth on September 6 with a successful landing in New Mexico.

The SpaceX Dragon, selected by NASA to transport astronauts Suni Williams and Butch Wilmore home, arrived Sunday at the International Space Station.

The ship will return with its crew and the two astronauts stuck on the International Space Station early next year.

SpaceX launched a mission to bring the two Boeing Starliner astronauts from the International Space Station (ISS) back to earth. NASA reported that the SpaceX Dragon spacecraft left the Florida station at about 1:17 p.m. ET on Saturday. It will take the crew about 28.5 hours to reach the ISS, according to The Hill.

Crew-9's SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket is scheduled to lift off at 2:05 p.m. EDT Thursday from Launch Complex 40 at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station.
