When Aaron Judge is out of the lineup, it shows. After suffering a torn ligament in his right, big toe on June 3, the New York Yankees outfielder was sidelined for 42 days, and the team suffered in his absence.

Many pegged the Yankees as a possible World Series contender this year. Instead, the Yankees have dealt with a wide range of injuries and are just 78-77. New York could find its way back to the postseason next year with a solid move or two this upcoming offseason, but this season without a doubt has been a disappointment.

"My understanding is no," Aaron Boone said. "I've kind of felt that way for a while. The belief is that it's gone about as well as it [could] since he's come back."
