Moving into an all-night session early Thursday, House Republicans reconvened to push ahead on their multitrillion-dollar tax breaks package, with Speaker Mike Johnson defying the skeptics within his ranks and working to muscle President Donald Trump's priority bill to passage.

House Republican leaders are racing to drag a sweeping bill for President Donald Trump's agenda across the finish line even as some holdouts are dug in and key issues remain unresolved. NBC News' Julie Tsirkin reports on how the bill was passed amid some controversy.

The bill, passed by a single-vote margin, would fulfill many of Trump's populist campaign pledges. All of the chamber's Democrats and two Republicans voted against it. One Republican missed the vote because he had fallen asleep.
