There’s a lot of frustration on social media and Reddit among Swifties who feel that the impending December 13 VOD rental of The Eras Tour movie is some sort of Taylor Swift cash grab to wring a few extra bucks out of her fans.

Swift's highly anticipated concert flick premiered in theaters earlier this fall, and it smashed records. CNBC reported that it's the highest-grossing domestic concert film ever, bringing in between $95 million and $97 million.

The movie capitalized off Swift’s tour of the same name, which netted the music superstar millions of dollars for each of its stops.

The theatrical version of “Eras” has a runtime of 2 hours and 49 minutes. That’s not exactly “Oppenheimer” (3 hours), but it is longer than “Napoleon” (2 hours, 38 minutes). When the concert movie debuts on paid streaming on December 13, it will be exactly three songs longer; welcome to the party, “Wildest Dreams,” “Long Live,” and “The Archer.”

Since the premier and worldwide release to theaters of The Eras Tour film in October, Taylor Swift fans have been wondering when they would be able to rewatch and relive their live tour date at home. Swift announced Monday that the Eras Tour film will be released for household viewing on December 13 — Swift's birthday.

The film hit theaters on Oct. 12, and the singer revealed it will be available to stream on her birthday on Dec. 13.
