Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders (R-AR) said Thursday that Arkansas will not comply with new federal regulations that would ban discrimination of LGBT students under federal law. The move comes as other Republican-lead states made similar defiant moves against the Biden administration.

Arkansas has not yet sued the Biden administration over the new rules but six other Republican-led states challenged them this week.

The Arkansas Senate voted Thursday to confirm 56 of Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders' appointees to state boards and commissions, including appointees to the board of trustees for the University of Arkansas and Southern Arkansas University as well as to the Arkansas Economic Development Council.

A poll released early Monday shows Arkansas Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders' popularity with voters steadily decreasing.

Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders announced that applications for the Summer Electronic Benefit Transfer program have been opened. This new program provides grocery benefits of $120 per eligible school-aged child for groceries when school is not in session. Sanders had announced the state’s participation in the program in January.
