Gov. Josh Shapiro (D-PA) condemned pro-Palestinian protests at Columbia University as “unacceptable.” Protests have taken hold of several major universities across the country, centered on U.S. support for Israel during its war with Hamas.

I do feel a somewhat unique responsibility to speak out when I see this level of antisemitism on our campuses and in our communities,” the Pennsylvania governor said.

Josh Shapiro said “it’s absolutely unacceptable” how universities such as Columbia are handling student safety while pro-Palestinian demonstrations persist.
